I’m thinking that threaded across the performance are a few brief songs – in the form of a song cycle that holds the essence of the narrative and supports the structure and form of a largely non-verbal, image-theatre piece where music, colour and light are at its core.

Of course, we may need nothing like this at all … but it’s all part of the journey of understanding where we’re going in the process of getting there.

If thinking that Imogen, the storyteller and wanna-be hero in her own story – has a muse by the name of Ultra Violet. When Ultra Violet appears, the stage/the screen/the story goes into “violet hold”… whilst the “musings” take place. The character is a violet diaphonous screen entity who sings her “ideas” … (Imogen’s musings) and we get the sense that these are Imogen inner musings. Her song snippets would be pre-recorded and associated with the screen image … and I think we’d need to find a pure young voice to suit the character. All her tunes are a nod to Gav’s 7 note star tune. … and the iconic Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

They’re melodic snippets rather than songs.
